RSA is deeply committed to continuing education and we understand that the knowledge and skills risk managers need to be successful are very complex and diverse.
Last month, risk managers from across the country joined RSA in Toronto for our first Risk Mangers Seminar.
The invitation-only seminar, called ‘Fast Forward: Navigating the Future of Risk Management,’ was held in partnership with the Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC), Schulich School of Business. It was designed to help inspire how risk managers approach their job and to hone their leadership skills.
Risk managers participated in engaging sessions grounded in academic fundamentals, hands-on group work, and thought-provoking discussions on the leadership and influential skills of business and risk management.
During the sessions, an artist created live graphic recordings of the key findings. The end result was a visual summary of the topics covered during the sessions.
After the event, risk managers in attendance shared that they appreciated the knowledgeable and engaging speakers and the ideas that were shared during the seminar.
“I amassed some comprehensive ideas that will help me respond as a prudent Risk Manager to the ultimate question: 'Is my company ready?'" says Tanya Diedrick, Director Risk Management at H&R Reit.
“It was a renewed way of presenting and sharing information with risk managers that was not only on target for the audience, but in one particular case -- Fast Forward” by Alexander Manu -- was ahead of the curve of emerging risks,” says Renee Simms, Insurance Assistant Vice President at RioCan.
“[These risks] opened new windows into our industry that is changing -- and has changed -- beyond our wildest expectations.”
